We love giveaways, so why not do one involving one of the biggest music events of the year!! SXSW happens every March in Austin and it draws bazillions of people down to the capital city of Texas to kick it with their favorite bands, musicians, and artists.

This contest is pretty simple, and we hope you have fun entering. Feel free to enter as many times as you want, just be sure to snap a pic of you wearing your Dowdy tee and tag Dowdy Studio on facebook on all your entries, this is the only way we'll see them.

The big news of the party is the first unveiling of Dallas' newest food truck, or I should say sweet truck, from Rockstar Bakeshop. They've named their roaming deliverer of whoopie pies, Layla, who we're all excited to see at the Studio. So we all don't go into sugar comas, the Easy Slider Truck will be joining Layla in front of our studio serving up tasty gourmet sliders.

Not only will we be celebrating the new truck, but the Dowdy Studio Wagon will also be celebrating it's 1st birthday!! Yes one whole year old!! YAY!! We have lots to celebrate, so stay tuned for some fun announcements that will get the party pumping.

Wagon Makeover!!

The Dowdy Studio Wagon got a makeover last week. We stayed up late and worked long hours to completely rip out all the Wagon's guts and rebuild them ourselves. After a full year of rolling around town in our mobile shop, we saw a few areas that needed improvement, and we were just ready for a new coat of paint color to freshen up the small space.

The back wall brightened up with a nice teal color for some fun pop! We trimmed down the size of our check out counter to make more room for shopping fun, and gave it a nice glossy white paint job. Our necklaces on the back wall are hanging on upside down repurposed wood hangers, that have seen better days in the Wagon. We loved making those, it felt great to save some money and reuse something that could have been thrown away.

This is our pride and joy of the whole redesign. We finally put all the tees on one side of the Wagon, and built the display around a simple organization system - girls on one side and boys on the other. Now it's so much easier to find that Dowdy design you've been after, and we think it looks pretty dang cool too!

Our biggest challenge with the redesign was to make more space in the Wagon. with only 72 sqft, we don't have much space for bulky large shelves and bins, so we built up and narrow, and now have tons of room. There's at least another half a dance floor in the Wagon now!! yay!

We'd love to invite you to come see it in person. We're having a party at the Studio this Friday from 5-8pm. Join us for beers, and food trucks. Or swing by the White Rock Local Market on Saturday for some fresh food goods and more artists and crafters.

Just getting our hair did

After a fun Saturday in Fort Worth with the Dowdy Studio Wagon, and many many other fun weekends, we decided it was time to give the Wagon a little facelift. It's been almost one year that we've been rolling through out town in our mobile shop, and it's time to have a makeover! Just in time for the Wagon's 1st birthday!!

We spent Sunday afternoon, taking out all of our handmade items and tees, and clearing out the Wagon. I think we found that pair of scissors we've been looking for hidden under one of the displays. Why is it that scissors are always going missing? Is it just an artist thing? We have this issue a lot. Now we know it's our shelves and displays that like to eat them.

After clearing out all the goods and heavy stuff, we gave the Wagon a super duty cleaning to make her shiny and happy, then got to painting. Since we've been staring at the same green wall for almost a year, we decided to change the colors completely and went with a striking yellow and sexy teal. These two colors paired make a great team.

Next on the agenda is building all new displays. We've learned a few things here and there about how our space flows when it's crowded in the Wagon, and we're hoping to make it easier to shop in and pop out for everyone. We're going to widen the floorspace by building the displays higher into the walls. And you know what that means!!! More efficient dance parties!!!

Saturday, the Dowdy Studio Wagon started the day with beer over at Rahr & Sons Brewery in Fort Worth.

They had a whole lotta beer!!

And we met a whole lotta fun awesome people!

Then we headed over to Avoca Coffee, where they serve the best coffee in Fort Worth + more really cool folks. Seriously.

Fortworthology even swung by and snapped this awesome pic of us, and made us blush.

We heart you Fort Worth, thanks for having us. We hope to be back soon!!

Join us Wednesday right after a long day at work at Rahr Brewery for a brewery tour and tasting. The Dowdy Studio Wagon will be there and open for shopping fun while you taste great local brews. Wear your Drink Local Tee, or come get one from us. It's the perfect tee to mark the occasion!

Because it's Wednesday night, you can get a taste of some special experimental brews, like over-the-top versions of Rahr's core beers,! It's like being in the home of an artists and seeing their new work before it goes on display. We also hear Wednesdays are the best night to go if you're into smaller crowds and more elbow room.

Wednesdays, we thought it would be fun to shine the spotlight on other creative people too - so don’t be surprised to see an artist displaying their work or an artisanal bakery handing out samples of bread made with spent grain from the brewery. We have a great opportunity to highlight an important part of the North Texas arts community and we want to make the most of it!

Famished after a long day at work? Don’t worry – we have food available during the Wednesday Tour too!

Please note that the brewery is an open-air facility, which means no air conditioning. Please dress accordingly during summer months.

New Studio Party Recap

Last Saturday we opened our new studio doors and threw down a party to celebrate moving to our new space. We really want to give a huge thanks to everyone who came out to support our studio and our work, and sling back a few beers and glasses of wine with us. We love you!!

We kicked back after working for 2 months straight on creating our studio space with some very cool folks. The Dowdy Studio Wagon welcomed in shoppers, while the Mer-Jack photo cut out partied it up like a lumberjack in a log cutting contest.

From 7-8pm Dylan opened up the Tee Bar, a first in Dowdy Studio history. The Tee Bar was a custom printing bar where partiers could order their tee just the way they like it. We debuted our new Howdy Howdy Howdy Dowdy Design and everyone got to choose their shirt color. While hanging out for your new tee, Dylan printed the shirt right before your eyes.

Thanks again for such a fun night!! We were so happy to see so many familiar faces and had fun meeting new friends!!

We'll definitely have to do this again!!!

Ain't a party unless you get you some bunting! I made this super bunting out of scraps left over from making colorful pillows.

This past weekend we made a big huge sign to go outside our studio. This way you can find us, and we'll always know where we parked our studio!

Dylan cut out our sign out of a huge chunk of wood, then painted it white. Because of it's shield like shape, when we went to draw on the lettering, it wouldn't stand up straight, so we flipped it upside down so it wouldn't fall over while we outlined our letters. The overhead projector made it super easy to make sure we didn't goof up our own logo - becuase that would have been mighty embarrassing.

Once the logo was traced we got to painting!! This was the fun part, like a childhood coloring book...but no mermaids or dragons, just letters.

and it took forevers. (insert break)

After many touch ups, and cleaning up the image, our sign was complete. Now we just have to hang it! yay!

Studio Play Time - Pile of Frames

This weekend, we raided our local Goodwill to find a pile of decent looking frames for a fun wall project in the Dowdy Studio. It's a super easy way to fancy up a wall on a budget.

Here's what we did:
First - Raided Goodwill's frame section for cheap used frames. It's good to go with two people on this one. I almost lost a few frames when I had my collection laying on the floor in a pile. I reached over to grab another frame that caught my eye, and some lady was inching towards my frame hoard ready to snatch up the good ones. But I and my ninja fast like moves prevented her from her thefty plan. So our advice is to take another body with you to guard your frame collection while you hunt for more, or get really really good at being a ninja.

Second - Take your frame hoard home to free the 80s or 90s artwork from it's clutches. You may need some scissors or a pair of pliers to open the backs of some frames. If the artwork is exceptionally awesome, keep it!! We decided that this home over grown with flowers sitting in a meadow was a perfect keep. We're actually turning it into another project that we'll show ya laters.

Thirdly - We wanted to preserve the gold interior of the frames, so we taped them off before painting. Some of our frames didn't have a golden interior, but they were already metallic, so we just taped off a portion of it, so we wouldn't paint over it.

Forther - We painted them!! Then we waited for them to dry. I think we went to go get lunch at Good 2 Go, then came back to the studio.

Fifthy - Some frames, we kept the original backing, and wrapped fabric around it. Dylan scored this menswear fabric from a thrift shop for $1.50. DEAL!

Fifthy half - You can make the back pretty with a hot glue gun or super glue or staples, but we didn't have any of that. We did have lots and lots of painter's tape after painting the studio....so...painter's tape it was!! We don't recommend using painter's tape, as it does not stick very well to fabric, but if you put enough on, it will hold it enough. We plan on redoing this part in the future.

Six-ish - We laid out the frames on the floor and arranged them to our likings.

Seventh - Then we hung them on the wall. DONE!! We'll soon get them all ready to hold our jewelry pieces, but we didn't have any supplies for that, and we were tired after all the other work we had done yesterday. So to the couch we went!!

We gotta new studio, and we're ready to party with ya!!

We're celebrating finally giving our studio the 1, 2, PUNCH out of our home, where we worked out of our red studio garage for the past 4 years, into a brand new snazzy studio space in east Dallas. We've been jazzing this place up since late December just for you, and it's look'n good.

Now go get your party pants ready, and let's get this party started!!! Bring your bestest buddies and join us for Mer Jacks, fun, beer, a tee bar, snacks, more fun, the Wagon and more. We'll have our silk screen press working the never before seen Dowdy Studio Tee Bar, a from 7pm - 8pm-ish featuring our newest design, debuting at the party, where you can select your very own tee color, and watch Dylan or Pamela (the bar-tee-enders) screen print your tee before your very eyes. Drinks are on us, as we bust open a big fat keg for the 21 & up folks. We'll have some snackies out, and Goodburger is right around the corner serving burgers and yum for those who experience an extra super hungry. Our Mer-Jack photo cut out will be ready to party with you, and we'll have all the Dowdy Studio goodies, and the Wagon will be open inside for shopping fun.

New Studio Adventures - Hung & Done

Creating a studio space invites lots of fun projects to start happening. One thing that was on our project wish list was to hang a giant sign somewhere in the new creative workspace. Many ideas rattled around in our heads before we finally decided to go with a recycled shipping palette. Luckily our local home improvement shop was looking to toss a few unloved ones, and we were happy to take them off their hands.

Palettes are usually made out of scrap wood, and are easily dinged up and broken while they're doing their heavy lifting at their day jobs. The retired overworked pile of palettes we were given had many broken and missing boards, so before we even got started, we had to pull a few split and broken planks of wood off this piece and replace them with more desirable slats from another palette. We then sanded down the whole thing to protect our hands from getting splinters. After all that, it was fun artsy time!!

We printed a transparency sheet of our logo and slapped it on a projector that Dylan was given by his high school art teacher. This enabled us to outline the letters in pencil on the palette wood.

After tracing the letters, we busted out some paint and got to painting in the lettering. Once we finished painting the D in Studio, we had to stop and giggle, then bust out the camera and shoot the Dowdy Stud. hehe We imagined him being a tattooed bearded muscle man who tames lions in his free time and only eats raw steaks. He lives on a mountain and rides wild bulls to and from the local market, where he tells the town children stories about his youthful adventures. Yup.....we make things up.....a lot.

Dylan then screwed in some metal hooks directly into the wood, so we could loop some heavy duty chain through.

The ceilings in the studio are pretty high, and we are both terribly afraid of heights, so this part took the longest. It involved a ladder, lassoing a chain, freaking out, climbing down the ladder, cursing, contemplating just leaning the sign on the floor, climbing back up the ladder, and finally eating our fear and getting this bishhh hung from the rafters. Phew....makes me nervous just writing about it.

We're happy to have our sign hung and done. We also can't wait for you to come see it at our Studio warming party. We'll post details about it shortly, so stay tuned!! PARTY PARTY PARTY!!!

New Studio Adventures

Most people spent their holiday break playing with their new Christmas toys, or hanging out with family or eating lots of sweets and left overs. Well we did that same exact thing, except instead of toys, we had a new studio to remodel, and we brought in family to help make it happen. Oh....we also had lots of coffee, energy drinks, and loud music to keep us going (duh).

One of the big projects in renovating the new studio was building a printing room in the back part of the studio. This is where Dylan will be screen printing all our tees, clocks, coasters and more. We enlisted the help of Dylan's dad Tad, aka Dad Dowdy, to put up some fancy walls. Dylan's dad is a master wood worker and awesome at building things. His history includes set building for movie sets, custom interior work, train model building, and furniture. So it was a no brainer to ask this jack-of-all-trades to help us with this studio undertaking.

Dylan was put to work on helping his dad build the wall, while I (Pamela) remodeled the bathroom. I declared myself Manager Extreme of Bathroom Design, and worked away in the tiny space making it beautiful awesome!

Building a room isn't as easy and fast as you may think. After building the structure, then framing it out, you then have to put up dry wall, and cover the seams with fancy wall mud, then wait for it to dry.........and wait......and once it dries, you can put on another layer of mud seam filler......and wait....some......more. While waiting a few days for the walls to dry, we had time to paint a giant gray stripe down the wall, paint the floors, and build a few more projects that we'll share with you soon.

We had the best holiday break we could ask for!! It's always fun working with your best friend in the whole wide world on a huge project.

Kicking out the Studio

Sorry we've been so quiet here lately. If you follow us on the facebook or the twitter, you might have heard us jumping up and down and screaming about us finally moving Dowdy Studio into a real studio!! YEAH!!! So no more working out of our red home studio garage and spare bedroom, no more tracking inky blobs throughout the house, and no more running back and forth from the house to the garage to print tees and make things happen.

Right now, our tee storage and jewelry making room are in our spare bedroom, our printing station and drawing area are in our studio garage, and the Wagon hangs out on our back patio. Meaning if we're printing a truckload of tees, and forget to grab a small tee off the shelf....we've got to run all the way through the house to the spare room to grab it, then back. It makes for a wonderful cardio workout, but not so great for running an art studio. If you're familiar with any artists, you might be aware of this already, but we have short attention spans and can easily get distracted. Kittens!! <---see? So going from the garage to the spare bedroom to the patio can sometimes be a longer distraction that you'd think.

We're excited to kick out the studio from our home, and relieve ourselves of the cardio triangle that is our lives now, and move everything to our new space in Dallas, where everything can live in one big space.

Our first time to Funky Town

Since we opened our mobile shop in March, we've been all around Dallas and Austin, TX, Norman and Oklahoma City, OK, but never to our close neighbor city, Fort Worth. But tonight will change that!!! Tonight we are packing up the Dowdy Studio Wagon shop and journeying over to Funky Town for one massive party.

Etsy Fort Worth has teamed up with one local venue, 3 local food trucks and 2 local mobile shops, and one roaming mobile studio shop to bring you one big honking Truck Party!! We Made New Wood Jewelry!!!

My wooded jewelry has made it's way back into our Etsy shop, after quite a break. I found less time to work on them as we were getting situated as husband and wife art team in the Dowdy Studio Wagon at the beginning of this year. I was focusing more on setting up a new website, renovating the Wagon, organizing the Spring Bash and Jingle Bash and all kinds of fun behind the scenes of Dowdy Studio. With the break from making jewelry I found myself with more time to think about new designs. All these new ideas brewed around in my head for months, and I'm so excited to finally be able to present the finished pieces of works!!!

Each wooden necklace is hand cut and wood burned by hand by me. I also hand paint and stain each one to make them all unique pieces of artwork. You will never find two of our necklaces that are exactly the same.

I secure each wooden pendant on to a thick antique brass chain, which is the finishing touch in this designed and handmade piece.

To go along with the necklaces, I hand make smaller friends for them in the form of adjustable band rings.

Pics from the past week and then some

So somewhere around here a magical reindeer kicked over a bucket of holiday cheer (like egg nog or wassle) and kick started the holidays. We've grabbed our cup of holiday cheer and have been setting up at holiday markets and shows all over Texas.

Last weekend we journeyed down to the great capital city of Austin, TX to set up the Dowdy Studio Wagon at the Renegade Craft Fair. It was so much fun and we met tons of fabulous people.

We brought our Mer-Jack photo cut out for the people of Austin to play with. We hear he was making appearances all over the interwebs on people's facebook pages and twitter feeds. LOVE IT!!

We also nearly sold out of our new holiday card sets! Don't worry, we made more and will be bringing them with us up until Christmas day in the Wagon.

After Renegade, we also needed to get to work on new pillows. We hopped back in the studio and sewed up a hefty arm load of cozy friends for you to put on your couch, along with printing more tees, making coasters, and lots of other fun stuff! Shop our pillows online here.

As usual, we took a break to be silly.

Then photo shopped ourselves into pics from the West Elm + Etsy Dallas event we missed. There were free DIY crafts, holiday tunes, select vendors and fun. We were so sad to miss out. Check out the Etsy Dallas recap here.

After a long week of working in the studio, we decorated the Wagon for the holidays and popped up show at the Dallas Flea.

It was good times all around! We were happy to meet new faces and see many familiar ones at the Dallas Flea. Cheers to all of you, and join us next week when we head on over in the Wagon to White Rock Local Market on Saturday and Good 2 Go Tacos on Sunday.

And good news for you last minute shoppers, we'll be open Tuesday through Friday right before Christmas at Good 2 Go Taco and Goodfriend. So come on over fill up on yummy food, then fill your Santa sacks with awesome handmade goods by us.

The Girlie Show: recapped!

This past weekend we trotted up to OKC for one of our favorite shows of all time, The Girlie Show!! It's a packed house of girl artists selling their handmade goods and artwork, female musicians, tasty foods from local restaurants and fun.

The show takes place in an old farmers market building, which is transformed inside into girlie-fab awesomeness for two days.

This is the set up Friday night right before doors opened. It was a packed house. There were eager shoppers and partiers wall to wall.

A couple shots here of our booth, which Dylan and his dad built the week before the show. The head Girlies in charge liked it so much they even gave us a fancy ribbon for being the best booth. We were ecstatic!! I think we both nearly fainted when the awarded it to us, then we celebrated with some fancy dance moves and a couple beers!!

We had so much fun at the Girlie Show in OKC, that we think we might have rattled the earth. Saturday night, while relaxing in our quiet hotel room, the floor, walls and everything in between started shaking. EARTHQUAKE!!! Seriously. It was our first ever earthquake to experience and it was scary, and exciting and then scary, and then over. Pamela even reenacted the OK earthquake on the drive home.

Now we're back in Dallas, and ready to have fun this Friday thru Sunday at Good 2 Go Taco and Goodfriend Beer garden and Burger House. See you soon!

Art & Craft On The Go With Dowdy Studio

Hopefully everyone is rested and sober by now after all the Dallas Observer Music Awards partying that took place in the last week (and for some, the week before, too). If not, we promise to speak softly. Although, if you hear a rumbling rolling down the street, it just might be the Dowdy Wagon headed to one of your favorite local haunts.

Make way for Dowdy Studio in our latest installment of Profiles In Pictures. As usual, photographer Sara Kerens gives us an intimate look at another local creative outfit and we ask them our set of standard Qs. Take a look inside and outside the wagon and read what these mobile locals and Etsy Dallas members have to say after the jump.

Who are you, what do you do, who do you do it for, and where do you do it?

We are Dylan and Pamela Dowdy, two illustrators and artists who travel around Dallas and beyond in our mobile store, the Dowdy Studio Wagon. Unlike most stores, ours is filled with things we made ourselves. Dylan screen prints our original illustrations onto tees, messenger bags, pillows and more, and Pamela handcrafts wooden jewelry, sews pillows and scarves, and we both try to have as much fun as humanly possible.

When we're not blaring music, throwing back coffee and working away in our bright red garage turned art studio, Dallas is our regular stomping (or rolling) ground for the Dowdy Studio Wagon. We roll in and pop-up shop in various places on a weekly basis. Regularly people can find us at Good 2 Go Taco in East Dallas, Bolsa Cafe in Oak Cliff, or check our schedule on our website to find out where we'll be and when.

What do you find the most satisfying about what you do, and why?

The smile on people's faces when they see our art or our tiny shop really gets us excited. Not only do we thrive off other's excitement, but we also get incredibly giddy when we see people wearing our wares out and about. It's really fulfilling as an artist to see your art being worn and appreciated after you've released it into the wild.

What is your favorite tool/special resource that allows you to do what you do?

After each other, our favorite thing is our little mobile shop. Third is coffee. The Dowdy Studio Wagon has given us the opportunity to meet a variety of really cool people that we probably wouldn't meet just hanging out in our studio. It also gives us a great excuse to travel all around Dallas and visit other art loving cities like Austin and Oklahoma City.

Mer Jack - swimming on a new shirt color

Over the weekend our burly sea buddy, the Mer Jack, got a little make over. Think of it as we plucked him from his merry hole in the sea and gave him a giant new shiny ocean to swim in. Or actually, we just gave him a new royal blue tee to live on.

This is a super soft tri-blend tee, which makes it super soft and comfortable. Think of that vintage band tee you stole from your parents back in the day......oh, you didn't steal one....well, there's still time. Get to it, or just grab one of our tees.

We asked the Mer Jack what he thought of his new home. His response was hard to hear because he was 1. under water and 2. we think he might speak french. But all in all we think he's happy about his new home and shirt color.

Adventure in Dallas!

Hey! We're showing you this awkward couple photo we took this morning to kick off our photo tour of our anniversary day date. Pamela played hooky from work, so we could have all day filled with adventure and no formal plans. It stared with a big hearty breakfast at Good 2 Go Taco and liquid energy at Cultivar Coffee, then a quick peek at the construction of Good Friend Beer Garden next door.

After breakfast, we decided to head over to Dallas' Filter Building on White Rock Lake, the place we wedded and reminisced about our big fun day a year ago.

Looking at the old renovated Filter Building reminded Dylan of some old houses her saw once while driving by South Side on Lamar and Lee Harvey's. So we decided to go check them out. Turns out it was the Dallas Historical Village, once Old Dallas Park, and you only had to chip in nine bucks to go walk around and see all the historic buildings they have collected from around the Dallas area.

We had a great time and took 131 pics. Here's just a few:

One happy year of married life!

This weekend we are celebrating one year of happily ever after. This past year has flown by so fast, and we have made lots of great memories together and with you!

So let's just jump right into it - Just two weeks before our wedding day, Dylan's full time job let him go. It was a really hard and emotional time for us both. We didn't know what we were going to do, we didn't have any answers, and we were so wrapped up in our wedding day, that we had no time to even think in a straight line. But we kept our cool, because we knew no matter what life threw up all over us we would be okay because we had each other. We didn't know it then, but this was kinda that old kick in the soft spot we needed to really lock in our dreams and make them happen.

After the wedding, on a quiet beach in Mexico, we spent our honeymoon with a couple sketchbooks and a few fruity drinks. As the waves danced in our foggy heads cleared and what we realized is that it was now or never to embark on a new chapter in our lives.

This was a chapter where we focus all our energy and free time on Dowdy Studio, and really worked our asses off in our studio making cool stuff and delivering it to the world. Dylan finally had the time to throw 100% of himself into Dowdy Studio and Pamela, who still works full time as an illustrator and designer, devotes 100% of her free time to Dowdy Studio. Together we make the best out of what we have and always have a good time doing it. We may not be rich, but we are happy.

The Dowdy Studio Wagon had always been a dream we both had. It was something we talked endlessly about when we started dating in late 2007. At that time we didn't know what the Wagon would be exactly, a double decker bus, an airstream trailer, a cardboard box, but we knew we wanted a mobile handmade art shop that we could travel around Dallas and nearby areas in and meet lots of really cool people and share our handmade goods and art with them.

We are happy to say that we have had such a fun time with the Wagon and love everyone we have had the pleasure of meeting, and hope we can continue to keep on wheeling around town with you!

So moral of the story - When life's a bitch, just dance...or do whatever the hell makes you happy. You'll thank yourself later.

Just a Peek: Welcome to our home

Ever wonder where we make all our handmade jewelry? Well, here. This is our jewelry studio and tee storage room in our home. Most people would use this room as a spare bedroom, but not us. We take any extra square inch of our home to support our art addiction. Because we love it!

This is the work station. Usually you can find Pamela hanging out in here burning away on wood pendants or painting intricate details on wood rings.

We got a bulletin board to hang important documents and be more officey....but that didn't happen. We just pin up fun things we acquire or make, like little doodle sketches.

Like the pin board, there's one shelf above the desk that is dedicated to fun stuff. This has become home to delicate little wood sculptures that have been passed down through our families or found, and lots of other random things we love.

On the opposite wall of the desk, we've hung some of our favorite prints. We didn't have frames to put them in, and didn't want to pin them to the wall, so we searched the house for other random objects to hang them with. A binder clip, a clip board and a pants hanger came in very handy.

Hey guys! We thought we'd just take ya on a little camera phone tour of Friday night in the Wagon at Bolsa Cafe!

This week Dylan built a new awning for the Wagon that wards off rain drops. We knew there would be a chance of rain on Friday, so we planned ahead to make the Wagon rain proof.

Our Wagon drawers hold our prints all in a clear plastic sleeve backed with matte board and signed by us. Shown here is the Mer-Jack on 5x7, Hello Day on 8.5x10 and I heart U a Latte on 11x14. And hiding down below is our Yee Haw Kitty on a purple pillow. MEOW!

Pamela's wooden necklaces hang above the prints. Each one is hand carved and painted, making them all original pieces of art for your neck.

Our tees were out in full force. We've been working away in the studio all week to stock up on all our sizes and designs. This one is called the Super Ride. It's an eco friendly mode of modern transportation, and it's the fastest.....as long as the wind is blowing, of course. It comes on mens crew necks and lady v-necks, like the one shown.

As it got darker on Friday, the rain snuck in with it. Dylan's new awning worked it's magic and kept out that pesky wet rain. Now if only we could bottle it up and go pour it on people's lawns and trees.

Friday was a blast, and we were happy to hang out with lots of great people. We'll be at Bolsa Cafe all weekend, so swing by, grab some amazing food and drinks and come shop the Wagon.

Weekend Recapped: Part 2

The second part of our weekend was spent hanging out in the Dowdy Studio Wagon in front to Good 2 Go Taco and Cultivar Coffee over in East Dallas. It was great times! We even got to take some up close shots of the yarn bombing attack on their front patio and entrance.

Weekend Recap Y'all: Part 1

This weekend was filled with terrific weather and ~~truckloads~~ Wagonloads of awesome! It was great to be back in Dallas and hanging out with friends and making new ones. We began at the White Rock Local Market on Saturday, then headed on over to Good 2 Go Taco for some Sunday funday. There's just so much to talk about and show you guys that we have to make this weekend recap a two parter. So we present Part 1:

The Market was packed with all kinds of yummy tummy locally grown and made foods. The vibe was laid back and casual, just like us, so we couldn't have asked for anything more!

We swung open our doors to a nice cool 75 degree morning, set up the Wagon, and turned up the music for a great Saturday.

Pamela rocked the Mer Jack shirt tucked into a fitted cotton stripped skirt, some slip on low rise boots and topped off with a wooded carved and painted necklace from the shop.

We even had the pleasure of hanging out with some fellow Etsy Dallas members!! La Alicia showed off her recycled paper clutches while posing for a glamour shot.

Framed in one of La Alicia's wreaths, we caught Etsy Dallas member, Modest Ambition, playing with her adorable baby girl while helping out at the Hip Hazel Hoops booth.

Another Etsy Dallas buddy, Regal Cottage, was keeping it extra cool in the shade with a table full of cute! Regina, the artist, handmakes adorable little plush nesting dolls, pillows, fabric balls and so much more cool stuff for kiddos.

A great day was had by all. Thank to everyone who came and shared it with us. We'll see you guys next weekend at Bolsa Cafe in Oak Cliff, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Fluffy Stuffy Pillows

We're so excited to be back in Dallas this weekend with the Dowdy Studio Wagon. We're also super excited to be rolling in and opening doors Saturday at White Rock Local Market, and Sunday at Good 2 Go Tacos with a plethora of new pillows!!

Made it to Seattle!!

It's been one hella journey from Texas, the oven of the south, to Seattle, a cool place we've never been, and we're not even half way through it.

This is our buddy James, aka our ship captain, aka One-Up Designs, aka the one who knows where stuff is in Seattle, because he used to live there.

He showed us this yummy place, which by the way has the best scones and coffee of this fine city.

We also ate burgers in a restaurant made out of a boat. And they were awesome!

Then Dylan's hand spring a leak....luckly in front of a huge water fountian, so no one noticed. :) He made it look natural.

We're so excited to begin Saturday with a 3 day music festival, Bumbershoot!!! We brought lots of fun tees for Seattle music lovers to enjoy, so we hope they like them. See you guys soon!
